Red Velvet Valentine Smoothie

Happy Valentine's Day! Sweet desserts and candy get all of the attention on this holiday, but I thought my husband and I could use something a little more wholesome and nutritious to start off our day. What better way to show your love for your significant other than by treating him/her to delicious, healthy, antioxidant-rich foods?! To me, this Red Velvet Smoothie says "I love you... and I want you around for a long, long time." ;)

Here's the recipe: (Makes 2 large smoothies)
In a high-powered blender, combine 3 ripe bananas, 1-2 cups of frozen cherries, 2 tsp vanilla extract, 2 cups fresh spinach, 1-2 tbsp cacao powder, and enough cold water to blend to your desired consistency. (I used about 16oz water) Top with pomegranate seeds and dark chocolate chips. Feel the love!
